Finding the Right Home Siding Colors

"These are some fantastic home siding colors!"

What are some popular siding colors available to choose from? That can be a very difficult choice, as there are literally tons. There are so many that I doubt it would be possible to list them all, unless of course you’re willing to thumb through a massive catalog. It’s also very confusing when you consider all the different manufacturers and types on the market. If you’ve heard of Alcoa, Mastic, Wolverine, and Variform, you’re not even half way there yet. There is also Dutch, Kaycan, Alside, Gentek, Menards, and Revere. I’ve almost finished listing some of the most common. There is also Norandex, Vytec, Heartland, and Royal Crest.

So for the average person, simply choosing a color is not like picking one for a car. No, it’s far more complicated than that. In fact, most people don’t realize that the colors and hues of homes are almost completely different from home to home. They may look the same, but in reality they’re only very similar.

This shouldn’t stop you from going after the one you had our heart set on, though. If you have a great idea in your mind, go for it. But you should know that with different materials come different color choices. The different materials are synthetic plastics like vinyl, aluminum, cedar wood, steel, hardiplank, and brick. Now, there are other options of course, but these are the most common and unless you have a really good reason you won’t need a different type.

If you’re really in a bind for the right looking color, keep in mind that you can still paint most materials. Now, you’d obviously have to be pretty desperate to do such a thing but just keep in mind that this is a viable option, even if it’s only a last resort. So if you think you have all the necessary information to proceed, go for it. Although, you might want to make sure you have someone to help with installation.
